Analyst IDC reports that tablets sales in the fourth quarter of 2021 dipped 11.9% compared to Q4 2020, leaving full-year tablet shipments of 169 million units, 3.2% ahead of 2020. Shipments of Chromebooks, a popular acquisition for many during the earlier stages of the pandemic, declined a massive 63.6% in Q4 2021 year on year, albeit still leaving its full-year growth at 13.5%. The decline in Chromebook shipments is much worse than was predicted by IDC back in June when it expected Chromebook full-year 2021 shipments would reach 43 million units, 33....

Claimed 3D CAD images of the iPad mini 4 supports earlier reports that the upcoming device will adopt a very similar form factor to the iPad Air 2, getting the thickness down from 7.5mm to 6.1mm. A video (below) of the CAD images was posted by @onleaks, a source with a good track-record … The generally-reliable Ming-Chi Kuo had earlier said that the iPad mini 4 would essentially be a smaller version of the iPad Air 2, stating that it would also get updated specs....

Update: 13 billion euros later, we have an Apple response. CNBC reports that the European Commission investigating Apple’s tax arrangement with Ireland is ruling against the Cupertino company and recommending that Apple pay over $1.1 billion in back taxes. We wrote back in March that Apple was likely to lose its case as the tax arrangement with Ireland was likely to be declared illegal: But while the wheels of EU tax investigations may grind exceedingly slowly, I’d be willing to wager quite large sums of money on the final outcome....

YouTube Premium is set to bring back its critically acclaimed hit Cobra Kai this April, and if the new teaser trailer is anything to go buy, Daniel and Johnny are well on their way to becoming the best of enemies all over again. Climan’s custom GameBoy isn’t just an Apple TV remote, it’s also a supercharged modern custom handheld. This GameBoy has a new bright backlit display rather than the original old school dark one I’d play games on with a book light....

Award-winning actor Christopher Walken is joining the Apple TV+ thriller Severance as a lead alongside the previously-announced ensemble of Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower and John Turturro. Severance will be a rare TV role for Walken, whose work has seen him win an Oscar, BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild Award … Variety reports. Hollywood Reporter has a few more details. Live TV app “Channels” is out with an update today for Apple TV and iOS that brings the highly requested Picture in Picture support. After a good amount of work, the Channels team was able to figure out how to offer PiP without the need for transcoding or a DVR server. The Channels app – not to be confused with Apple TV Channels – is a great way to bring live TV to your Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Android devices, and more without the need for a traditional cable provider (but also can be used with traditional cable subscriptions)....

In the new Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 2 trailer, Kiernan Shipka embraces chaos as the half-witch, half-human title character. Netflix’s supernatural horror series concluded the first half of its debut season last October, before airing a special Christmas-themed episode in December. In pop culture, Shipka is best known for portraying Sally Draper on AMC’s Mad Men.
